What it means
KDP detected text or important elements too close to the trim edge. Even if the PDF size is right, KDP wants critical content inside the safe area.
Fix checklist
- Turn on margins in Canva (View settings).
- Move all text, page numbers, and thin borders inside the safe area.
- If you use bleed, keep backgrounds extending past the trim — but keep text away from the edge.
Pro tip
Thin borders are the #1 cause of this error. If you must use a border, make it thicker and keep it comfortably inside the margin guides.
